4S led Worship this week.
At Swanmore Primary we have different ways that the children get involved with Worship.
One way is through our Worship Council. Every year there is one member of each class who are chosen by their peers to be their Worship Council member. The Worship Council member then meet with different adults in school to explore, review, inspire, and change how Worship is used around our school.
Another way is WOW (Worship on Wednesdays) where a KS2 class conduct Worship to the rest of KS2 in our local church, St. Barnabas.
We hope you enjoy exploring our child led worship albums below.
(Don't forget to also check out the 'prayer spaces' tab and our 'thought for the week' tab to look at more ways children take part in Worship throughout their time at Swanmore Primary!)
4S led Worship this week.
Year 3 shared Harvest with KS2 this week and had Rev Nick and Ruben from Southampton City Mission blessed the food donations the community gave to the worship. Thank you to everyone who came to the Harvest to celebrate together and thank God!
This week Worship Council shared the prayer pebbles they made in our whole school worship. They explained what the prayer pebbles were for, and how to use them. Well done Worship Council!
5H led a beautiful worship at church this week in order to explore 'Peace be upon you'.
4M shared with us how they felt many hands can make light work this week.
This week 6H led WOW exploring our thought for the week ‘Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.’
6H shared their greed monsters, and made us think about how greed can shape lives - how would God want us to act when greed is in front of us? This linked to how, as a school, we have generously donated food to Southampton City Mission for their food bank during the harvest period.
Today 4S shared the parable of the talents to illustrate why life is an opportunity.
To celebrate Pentecost our Worship Councillor, Morgan, decided we were going to make crowns with flames on. We discussed that these reminded us of when the Holy Spirit was sent in tongues of fire to the disciples.
3M took Worship for us this week in St. Barnabas. They looked at what the word 'ubuntu' meant to them, and what it may look like around our school.
