Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools
Dear Parents and Carers,
I am delighted to share with you the outcome of our SIAMS (Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools) inspection, carried out on 9th February 2026. The final report is now published, and I am incredibly proud to say that it celebrates the very heart of Swanmore Church of England Primary School.
The inspector recognised that Swanmore is truly living out its Christian foundation, enabling both pupils and adults to flourish academically, socially, and spiritually. Our vision—rooted in love, respect and honesty—was seen as deeply embedded in everything we do, shaping our curriculum, relationships, and daily life together.
The SIAMS report highlights many areas of significant strength, including:
- A deeply embedded Christian vision that drives the work of leaders and governors, ensuring that pupils and adults flourish in a nurturing, values-led environment.
- A curriculum shaped by our vision, enabling all pupils—including those with SEND or who are vulnerable—to develop their individual talents and feel supported to achieve their best.
- Collective worship that makes a meaningful impact, offering relevance to pupils’ daily lives and supporting deep spiritual reflection and growth.
- A strong culture of care and wellbeing, with relationships characterised by respect, love, and honesty. Staff prioritise the wellbeing of pupils and colleagues, creating a secure and nurturing environment.
- High-quality Religious Education, enabling pupils to build strong knowledge and enjoy learning about a wide range of world religions and viewpoints. RE is given priority and is taught creatively and thoughtfully across the school.
The report also commends our pupils for their reflective thinking, their sense of justice, and the positive role they play in caring for each other and the wider community. It highlights the strength of our partnership with St Barnabas Church, our enrichment activities, and the inclusive culture that defines Swanmore.
This outcome reflects the dedication and commitment of our pupils, staff, governors, parents and church community. It celebrates who we are as a school family and recognises the lived experience of children who show kindness, curiosity, courage, and compassion.
I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to every member of our community who supports the work we do. Also, to Mrs Clark, our RE and Worship lead, who expertly prepared for the process.
Thank you for your continued support, trust, and partnership. Swanmore is a special place—and this independent inspection again affirms the quality provision we offer.
