Thought for the Week - Summer 2026

We unpicked the word community together, and thought about the importance of working with one another and supporting each other in all that we do.
We shared different communities that we belong to including at school, and at clubs like Brownies.
Jesus didn’t try to do everything himself, but chose a team of people to work with him, people like Peter and James and John – his disciples.
We then made a class community poster for our classroom

We learned about the fact that several of Jesus' disciples were fishermen. We went into the outside area and drew pictures of nets catching fish. We then drew pictures of people gathered in a heart, to represent those whom the disciples caught and brought to the word of God and God's love.

In year 1 Flamingos Class, we thought carefully about all the things we are thankful for and then we wrote God a little thank you note. We then linked all our 'thank yous' together into a paper chain and draped them across our special prayer table in our classroom.
