| The overall purpose of the Governing body is to help Swanmore CE (Aided) Primary School provide the best possible education for its pupils, in order to develop every child's full potential. This involves in particular: | ||
| A) Setting the school's vision and strategic aims, agreeing plans and policies and making creative use of resources.
B) Monitoring and evaluating performance and acting as a critical friend to the headteacher, in order to support and challenge in the development of the school. C) Ensuring that the school is accountable to the children and parents it serves , the church, the local community, those who fund and maintain it as well as the staff it employs. |

Good governance makes an impact in the classroom and we aim to contribute to high standards of attainment, together with good quality teaching and pupil behaviour. On the Governing body there are people representing different groups including parents, teachers, the church and local community. The Governors are proud that Swanmore CE (Aided) Primary School has a dedicated and enthusiastic team of teachers who aim to allow every child to achieve to their maximum potential. Pupil learning is also enhanced with an array of diverse extra-curricular activities and experiences, all taking place in a friendly and supportive environment. The Governors aim to support the school with its ethos: to create learners for life.
