Who are FOSPS?
All parents with children at Swanmore Primary School are automatically members of FOSPS.
What do FOSPS do?
FOSPS is the Swanmore Primary School Parent/Teacher Association. Our primary role is that of fund raising to support the school budget, in order to provide many of the "extras" that make a difference to our children's lives at school. We do this through arranging many different fund raising events throughout the course of the school year. These are varied and hopefully there are events to please everybody! ALL children will benefit from the money FOSPS raise over the course of their time at Primary School.
Events over the past year include Quiz nights, Saturday morning football, Film evenings, a Barn dance, the Summer Fair, the 50 p present sale and of course our ever expanding Bonfire night, which has become an annual village event! All these events are open to everybody, not just to parents of our school children. Our events are always well supported by our friends from the village and beyond and we are very grateful to you all for your continued support!Who runs FOSPS?
FOSPS is run by a committee of volunteer parents, with a teacher representative and our Head Teacher. The committee meet once or twice a term generally but put in many hours of planning and organisation! We have to start planning for the Summer Fair in January, for example, in order for it to be the success it is!
Although there is a Committee running FOSPS, we can not run successful fund raising events without the help and support of ALL the parents!! We always need people to bake cakes and biscuits, to help out in the kitchen or bar, to set out and clear up after events. Even if you can only spare a short time to help out, it is much appreciated…so next time you see someone coming towards you with a clip-board….please say yes!!!! Above all, we would like you to have fun and ENJOY our events at the same time as raising much needed funds.
