Curriculum - Foundation
The children in Reception year (Year R) follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Curriculum and work towards the Early Learning Goals in six areas of learning:
- Personal, Social and Emotional Development
- Communication, Language and Literacy
- Problem Solving, Reasoning and Numeracy
- Knowledge and Understanding of the World
- Physical Development
- Creative Development
An excellent induction programme ensures that pupils settle quickly and happily into school life. Much is learnt through play in an indoor and outdoor environment where children feel included, secure and valued. Children are assessed at the end of Year R using the Early Years Foundation Stage Profile.
