Year 2

In year 2 we were learning about the religion of Islam. We started the day by watching a video about how the Islamic faith was started and then looked at some of the items that people who follow the Islamic faith use. We then listened to some stories about Islam and the festival of Eid-Al-Fitr and then had a go at writing our name in Arabic and designing our own Henna Hand! After the break, we learnt about the 5 pillars of Islam and created some artwork to represent this. In the afternoon, we had a range of animals and in groups had to put them in order of importance. We then read 2 stories called ‘The Prophet and the Ants’ and ‘The Crying Camel’ and then re-ordered the animals. We realised that all animals have equal importance. We then acted out the stories.
